"CNY Film Professionals (501c3) delivered a 12-week training program for aspiring professionals interested in entering the film and video work industry. That program, titled CALL TIME, culminated with apprenticeship opportunities on a professional short-film production. The short film was based on a story developed by the fellows, and the production was led by 35 expert film crew. Elias Gwinn, President of CNY Film Professionals, said, “Learning from experts on a professional film set is the only tried-and-true way to become qualified to work in the film industry. CALL TIME gave them that immersive experience, while including them in the creative direction as well.'”

I worked as the assistant editor on the first issue of the CALL TIME Documentary (10 min) , CALL TIME Teaser screened at the CALL TIME Premiere and Ceremony event on June 10th, 2023, and have worked towards organizing and assistant editing much of the overall documented content of Call Time's first launch and successful execution.
As a trusted video editor and being familiar with the content, I began to work as the reel editor creating grad spotlight reels highlighting each of the graduated fellows and their voices. Each of the fellows voice their sense of self, aspirations, and takeaways from the process of the CALL TIME training, producing a short film, and working towards graduating from the training program, with a total of 12 fellows.
Currently as the editor on the digital strategy team, we have been promoting CALL TIME for interested film professionals and building increased engagements across the website and social media. We are preparing for CALL TIME's Season 02 training session in 2024!

EDITING WORK:
For the reels, I organized and assembled in Adobe Premiere Pro. I organized footage by searching and selecting B-Roll containing the fellows. I audio synced interview footage with production audio files. I listened to each of their interviews to place meaningful sound bites that highlighted their character and voice. I created a loose paper cut/edit to properly understand how well their character came across before I began to assemble the footage. I searched and sourced audio for music to complement the energy of each fellow and of CALL TIME. I transcribed and added captions to every video as well. I then sent each video as they finished to the digital strategy team for feedback and versioned up as needed.
I also experimented with designing and adding motion graphics to the intro and outro title cards in Adobe Illustrator and After Effects to enhance the feel of CALL TIME's branding strategy:
spotlight animation
I found stock images of spotlights, positioned it according to vision, and then created light beams in After Effects to imitate spotlights to create this
motion graphic.
The goal was to highlight in advance the purpose for this reel, thus introducing immediate understanding. We wanted the viewer to understand the following video will be a spotlight reel for the
graduate fellow.
slate logo animation
I took the logo of CALL TIME and
re-pathed the design of the logo and organized the layers in Illustrator to be able to transfer it into After Effects seamlessly. I then added animation to the slate clapper to start fairly open then quickly close.
The goal was to provide that satisfying sound and feel of the slate snapping closed. Making the end of the video end with that same satisfying feeling.
